Continuing with the plant index work featured in the last blog post, I have been continuing to document and interpret the plant species present in the museum's biodiversity garden.

We have established the species which will need labels, and I am currently researching specific links to welsh heritage and culture within these plants.

Below are two mock-up layouts, using some illustrations I am working on to accompany these labels.
Some key points to consider for this project are:
LABEL STRUCTURE

Plant Name (bold)
Binomial Name (italics)
Visual description (regular)
Pollinators (R)
Floriography (R) (if relevant)
Historical uses
As the museum houses lots of roman, neolithic and victorian artefacts, finding links to these time periods within the plants will be ideal.
