We're all finding ways to cope with lockdown, so we decided to tackle the bookshelves. Two days running, still not done! We apparently have a book on every single topic, genre, age, dating back to the 1960s, maybe a few older. But here are some of my favourite illustrated books, with the illustrators listed when possible.
A closer look: Butterflies and Moths, illustrated by Norman Weaver, Tony Swift, & Philip Weare. This particular edition was published in the 1970s, no idea how it ended up in our house but the illustrations are gorgeous.
Fresh & Saltwater fish, illustrated by Keith Linsell, published in the 1980s. I have no idea why but I remember being obsessed with this little book when I was about 4/5 years old. It's tiny!
Planet Zoo, illustrated by Alan Marks. No idea when or where this book was bought, not sure I've ever fully looked through it either! So that's definitely going to be something to help entertain me for the next 3 weeks.
Children's Illustrated Dictionary, was given this as a gift in primary school. Doesn't mention any illustrators by name though.
